a girl and her cat (and some cameras)

I like taking pictures and have wasted many hours cooing at my cat.

I code for a living, make video game art for fun, and enjoy delicious food, live music, photography, roadtrips, Helvetica Neue, and good folks to talk to. I waste my time playing FFXIV & Pokemon. You wish you were as cool as me.

Hana Doki Kira is now LIVE!!!

Hana Doki Kira is a collection of comics and drawings from a fantastic group of artists all inspired by Shōjo - a sub-genre of comics that for many of us were among the first illustrated stories we fell in love with. We asked over twenty artists with diverse skills and styles to consider what shojo personally means to them, and to create art based on their interpretations.

After many months of planing, THE PROJECT IS NOW LIVE ON KICKSTARTER! Please check it out and support self-publishing artists for some awesome art and rewards!!!

To help promote it, I’m going to do TWO GIVEAWAYS to give you guys a chance to get some awesome art just for helping us spread the word!

The first giveaway is for a copy of the book from me!

  • To enter, REBLOG THIS POST! (1 entry)
  • On November 30th, I will choose THREE winners from the list using a random number generator.

The second giveaway is for a free sketch commission!

  • To enter, back the project at the $20 tier or more!
  • Screenshot the receipt, upload it and send the link to me.
  • The first TEN people to do so will get a free sketch commission!

PLEASE support the project; a lot of hard work was put into this by a lot of artists, and more support means we can continue to make art and publish it for you guys!!! Even if you can’t lend any money to the cause, help us reblog to get the word out!

Thank you so much!!!

A reblog in support of my darling friend @mightier and some other really awesome lady artists. :)

Psst Endy don’t count this for the giveaway.

Smorgasburg is full of delicious food, but it’s far too hot and sunny out for my tastes right now.

I feel like I’ve been cheated out of late spring/early summer weather (beautiful, sunny, in the 70s) this year: we went from 50s and rainy straight into humid, hot, heatwave.

Day 3 in Boston:

Wrapping up my delicious trip with with excellent host, Bing took me to Flour Bakery, where I forced myself to eat a salad (albeit a TOTALLY DELICIOUS one with excellent ingredients), because I definitely neglected eating vegetables during the rest of the weekend. Also got a lamb sandwich for the bus ride back home. Quite frankly, I wish my stomach was a black hole because I wanted to eat EVERY SINGLE THING listed on that blackboard. :Q

The walk to South Station gave us this beautiful view of Boston downtown.

Thank you for the excellent food tour, @cherrylet. :D

Day 2 in Boston:

Late as hell to posting this (Oh my god has it seriously been 4 months? It has.), but I still remember how full we were. Brunch was eating leftovers from the last two nights (reheated pasta & pizza: still incredibly delicious).

Then Bing introduced me to deliciously rich hot chocolate and the best cupcakes I’ve ever had. I generally am not a huge fan of cupcakes because either the frosting is too much or the cake is too dry or both, but these were pretty damn good. Then we took a break at The Thinking Cup before we went off to Marliave for some oysters. OYSTERSSSS. :Q

Anonymous asked: Hello! I love your photos :) I was wondering what camera/lens you used to take those pictures at the salty pig (or just in general)? That one especially of the charcuterie is gorgeous..

My camera’s kinda old, using the Canon Rebel XTi (and it’s definitely showing its age: only ISO 1600!).

All the photos from Boston this time around are using the kit lens. I use to take pictures w/ the 50mm f/1.8 but…I actually broke it by accident… (◡////◡);

I think I want to get the 28mm f/2.8 as a replacement since it seems way more versatile than the 50mm! (My camera body has a 1.6x crop factor so the 50mm turns into more like an 80mm lens on 35mm camera aka LET ME PLEASE STAND UP AWAY FROM THE TABLE TO PHOTOGRAPH THIS FOOD.) SO EXPENSIVE THOUGH. (ㅜ_ㅜ)

Also, never forget the power of RAW file type + post-processing. (¬‿¬) Pho! To! Shop!
